This topic really reminds me of my grandmother. She is the person that I respect the most, and it has been ever since I was little. I actually lived with my grandma for a long time when I was young. My parents were really busy with their work, so they would just leave me in grandma’s home and have her take care of me.
My grandma was always patient and loving. She never got angry at the little misdemeanors a child like me would make. However, she was also very persistent in some certain things. For example, she insisted I should be taught how to cook even when I very young. She thought that since my parents were busy, I should at least learn how to take care of myself.
I can still remember, grandma would grab a small stool and have me sitting right next to her. She showed me how to prepare the vegetables and how to cook. When it was my turn to actually try, she would keep giving me small tips. And she would also always tell me to start slow and not to cut myself accidentally. I still remember that when I tried to make tomato and fried eggs for the first time, I added too much salt. However, grandma said that it was a nice job and she finished all of it. I was really encouraged. Now I know to cook a lot of dishes, and I am always proud to have had a grandma like her to teach me cook.
