I would like to talk about a time when my friend Max called me for advice on how to prepare for the IELTS exam. She is one of my classmates who is majoring in finance and preparing to apply for postgraduate studies overseas. So, she must take an IELTS exam and, ideally, score well in order to be competitive in the application.
She asked me for information regarding this test because she knew I had taken it previously. So it may seem that I understand the entire procedure of the official speaking exam and the written portion, as well as which books and study resources I used to increase my overall English ability in a short amount of time.
Essentially, I recommended a suitable time to take her exam: it is preferable to do it before September—before the start of the new semester—because you would be unable to concentrate on your studies otherwise. We are likely to be distracted by minor issues when we return to school, and there may be various diversions. I also gave her some reading resources to help her understand the test's structure and design, as well as some tips I learned following my first effort at the exam.
In terms of how I felt when she asked for my opinion, I believe I was delighted. I am glad she trusted me and sought my advice on something important to her, and I hope she receives a high grade and meets her goals in the near future.
