The chart below shows the number (thousands) of visitors to five different types of museums in the UK from 1999 to 2019.

Nowadays, one of the most popular trends is following a vegan diet. As this practice continues to be appealing, some people claim that this eating pattern is known to generate health advantages so they encourage everyone to be a vegetarian. However, I disagree with their proposal.
Argument : vegetarianism wards off chronic diseases
Extension: 正是因为vegetarians tend to consume less saturated fat and cholesterol and more vitamins C and E,所以和meat-heavy diets比较而言,很多研究报告都 linked plant-based diets to lower rates of heart disease, type 2 diabetes, and some cancers.
Rebuttal: this correlation does not establish causation for optimal health across all demographics.
Extension: 在WHO的报告中,怀孕的人需要additional grams of protein daily for fetal development. A famous example is Phoebe from Friends, a committed vegetarian who craved meat during pregnancy—a biological signal of her body’s demand for animal-based nutrients that plants alone could not sufficiently provide.
Paragraph 3 --
Argument: maintaining nutritional adequacy on a vegetarian diet requires expert knowledge most lack, and without proper guidance, this dietary approach may ironically lead to malnutrition.
Extension: Plant-based diets carry risks of deficiencies in protein, vitamins, and minerals. 比如对于neurological function and DNA synthesis十分重要的 Vitamin B12. 肉类食物才是the most prominent source of Vitamin B12. 可能有的人会说,只需吃一些foods fortified with vitamin B12 or take a Vitamin B12 supplement to avoid a deficiency. 而问题在于Most ordinary people 无法负担起 hire nutritionists to design personalized vegetarian meal plans for them, and 网上的信息is often unreliable or contradictory. 同时,合理搭配食物需要 devote substantial time to studying nutrition,需要人们meticulously calculate the intake ratios of various vegetables, legumes, and dietary supplements.
Paragraph 4--Conclusion
In conclusion, while plant-based diets have gained popularity, they are not inherently healthier for everyone. The risks of nutritional deficiencies, the need for expert guidance, and the impractical time commitments make vegetarianism an unsuitable choice for most people.
