Due to rapid growth in urbanization and industrialization, waste utilization becomes an important aspect of the conservation of the environment. However, in some countries, the recycling of waste materials is unable to meet the expectations. It seems to me that the lack of equipment and awareness regarding the recycling of garbage are the two main culprits.
Initially, the issue can be largely due to the lack of recycling sites and matching equipment. After all, in some countries, the government cannot make purchases on enough recycling sites due to the deprived financial conditions. Even if other countries can afford these, the current technology has limited the reuse of the waste materials even after collecting them. The waste is either shipped to landfills or burnt in incinerators, either way leading to an unnecessarily large amount of toxic soil and water pollution that can harm the ecosystems. Besides, this problem can also be attributed to the lack of awareness of recycling, by which I mean individual recycling efforts have no real overall impact. Misinformation about overflowing landfills and depleted resources has convinced some non-recycles that the contribution to recycling can hardly make a difference, which seems to be a waste of time and causes inconveniences at the same time.
Several methods could be adopted in order to solve the aggravating problem in the hope of alleviating the situation. First, the government should strive to support and compensate for the relative careers as one of the priorities. After all, in order to have the full realization of rubbish collection eventually, the advanced technology plays a crucial role, which requires enormous funds, talents and policy support. Second, sufficient education regarding this issue is also indispensable. On the one hand, the educational authorities could try to add some selective subjects to let children and teenagers absorb the knowledge directly, and meanwhile as for the general public, more non-profit advertisements should be demonstrated, not only related to the importance of recycling, but the knowledge of how to recycle of waste materials.
To summarize, in order to avoid the deterioration of the environment, allocating more financial support and adequate education are the two solutions that I came up with.
