The advent of digital technology has made it possible to record our daily lives in a far richer way. Some people think that blogging about significant life events is the best approach, while others insist on documenting their lives through traditional diaries and photo albums, believing that this method is more appropriate. It looks to me that both approaches have their merits and demerits, so that it is hard to identify which one is better.
It can be justified that keeping track of those important life events through blogs and digital albums is highly convenient. Compared with the traditional method in which we have to sit at a desk to write down what is happening, people can use their smartphones to record the process on a blog whenever and wherever they desire. Additionally, the combination of multiple elements of the e-blog, including images, text, symbols, and even videos, makes the presentation aesthetically pleasing and impressive. However, this form incurs certain risks, with the most common being the disclosure of personal information, which can be accessed through hacker technology. Even worse, such information may be utilized by criminals to swindle the friends or relatives of the person concerned, which leads to devastating consequences, both emotionally and economically.
Those who prefer handwritten diaries and traditional photo albums may derive a strong sense of satisfaction from them. This is because writing a diary is more than just a record for them, and the process of writing on paper and the accumulation of pages provide them with great pleasure and security. However, this method does have drawbacks. To be specific, large numbers of diaries and albums necessitate sufficient storage space, and they must be preserved properly to avoid deterioration over time.
Overall, modern technology does make it easier to record daily events, while traditional diaries and albums remain popular among the public. It is difficult to determine which one is better, so just choose what you think is more suitable.
